Job Details

What

We are looking for someone interested in consciousness that is fluent in both English and German and able to translate (spoken) meetings between the two languages in both directions.

If possible, we’re looking for two people, so the work load can be shared.

When

For now, we need to cover our 10-day retreat in Arosa, Switzerland from 19.-29.06.2025. Additionally, four online meetings (approx. 2 hrs each). Potentially further engagement possible. (You’ll find more details on the programme here.)

Our expectation

You are interested and somewhat familiar with concepts of psychology and around consciousness. While the terminology and vocabulary is not necessarily difficult, knowing the language only makes it hard to do translations in meetings. It helps to have a bit of an understanding of the concepts discussed.
You don’t need to know every word. We will offer some training if required and are also able to help out during translation if there is something unclear.
We need someone reliable and professional. Not in the sense of translation experience, but in the sense of attending the meetings, being on time, etc., as well as having the ability to stay focused on the job.
You are open-minded and communicate your needs and approach us in case of any unforeseen difficulties. There is always a solution, but we depend on transparent communication.

Based on this, we will send you some recordings to get familiar with the language and content. We then schedule further calls as neccesary in order for both to find out if it really fits.
